"Metaphysical Properties" is a phrase frequently used to describe the belief that gems and minerals carry the power to create direct spiritual, supernatural, and physical changes in people and their environments.
Amethyst: Known to be naturally tranquilizing and calming. Relieves stress, strain, and anxiety.
Crystal Charging: Charging gives a crystal additional energy.
Place your crystal outside on the ground, overnight during a full moon to charge it with lunar energy. A windowsill will do!
Sunshine is the energy source of our Universe. Be careful of leaving your crystals in the sun too long, over 2-3 hours, the sun will fade its beautiful colors.
Botryoidal: A mineral surface that resembles a cluster of grapes: describes certain minerals such as Hematite, Prehnite, Mimetite, or Grape Agate.
Double Terminated Crystals: Double terminated crystals have a single point at each end, formed naturally or being cut and polished. Double terminated crystals have their energy flowing both ways making them advantageous for healing and spiritual purposes.
Druzy: Druzy quartz is made up of tiny crystals that form on the surface of a stone. This natural formation of crystal on a gemstone's surface, or crystallization, which often occurs when water collects and evaporates on a rock, creates a sparkling dream. Druzy stones are often found in the hollow cavity of agate geodes.
Inclusion: Substance or other mineral enclosed inside crystal while forming. Some may see this as a flaw, some see it as part of it's uniqueness and beauty.
Matrix: A rock or mineral that has an embedded crystal or crystals emerging from it.
Microcrystalline: A mineral composed of microscopic crystals, giving an amorphous appearance. Also known as Cryptocrystalline. (Flint, Chert, & Jasper)
Phantom Quartz is a variety of Quartz consisting of visible layers of overlapping crystal growths. The outline of the inner crystals can be seen due to some variation in composition or mineral inclusion making the boundary between growths visible. The interior crystal layers are known as phantoms.
Like regular quartz, the chemical composition of phantom quartz is silicon dioxide (SiO2).
ARROWHEADS: Most arrowheads were made from various stones such as flints, obsidian, and chert; however, wooden and metallic ones have also been found.
Native Americans made arrowheads using a chipping process called flint knapping.
The most sought-after and rare arrowheads are Clovis Points made from unique materials.
Clovis points are prehistoric tools native to North America that are roughly 10,000 to 13,500 years old. It is said that there are only about 10,000 Clovis points ever found, making them the rarest arrowheads in the world.
PAINITE: Not just the rarest gemstone, but also the rarest mineral on earth, Painite holds the Guinness World Record for it. After its discovery in the year 1951, there existed only 2 specimens of Painite for the next many decades. By the year 2004, there were less than 2 dozen known gemstones.
